India: All Kerala Federation of Petroleum Traders Seek Increase (21/11/2012)

The All Kerala Federation of Petroleum Traders has issued the Government with a number of requests that it hopes will help to ease pressure on retailers that are struggling to improve their margins. The federation’s list includes an increase in dealer commission – which it says is needed in light of higher wage and electricity bills – and a limit on the number of operators moving into territory that could potentially harm an existing retailer’s business. It says that it wants commission paid at an anchored percentage.
The requests were made after the federation held its annual general body meeting. It also took the opportunity to make a number of new internal appointments, including making S Muraleedharen the State President of the federation. K P Kumaradas was named as Secretary of the federation, Rajesh R was appointed as Treasurer and V J Vakkachan and Suni Abraham were named as the new Vice-Presidents.
