Czech Republic: MOL Purchases 124 More Czech Stations (04/10/2012)

ungarian oil major MOL has announced the purchase of 124 fuel service stations in the Czech Republic, adding to the 25 it was already operating, and bringing its total market share close to 5%. MOL said that the new stations will be operated under the Pap Oil banner, a well known brand in the country, and a company which MOL has also purchased stations from in the past.

MOL said that its latest purchase shows its commitment to achieving its goal of holding 5% market share in the Czech Republic’s fuel retail industry. MOL said that it intends to achieve its goal through organic and inorganic growth, meaning that it could potentially acquire more stations.
MOL said that for customers, the new deal means that they can use their Pap Fuel oil card, as well as their MOL Group and MOL Gold cards at all of the 1744 service stations operated by the group. MOL operates in 11 countries, and under eight banners, the group said. The company also confirmed that the acquisition of Bohemia Realty has been completed.
