Indonesian: Pertamina Plans 10.6m Barrels of Imports for Novembe (08/10/2012)

State-owned oil and gas firm Pertamina has confirmed plans to import up to 10.6m barrels of gasoline for the month of November. The company, through its Petral trading arm, is seeking to sustain supplies in the wake of the Eid al-Adha holidays in October and heavy refinery shutdowns.
Of the imports, 10m barrels consist of 88 RON gasoline, with between 400,000 and 600,000 barrels of 92 RON gasoline also prepared. Petral is set to import an all time record high of roughly 11.2m barrels of refined product in October, significantly higher than the monthly import rate of 8.6m to 9.6m barrels in the year to date.
According to the Platts news agency, two key refineries are set to eat into the company's imports in the coming months. The Balongan refinery was shut down for unplanned repairs that are set to conclude in mid-November, while the Cilacap refinery is scheduled to start a partial turnaround in November.
